The resort verandah at golden hour with Western Ghats in the distance

A small lodge with the forest at its back

We have been here long enough to know which morning is most likely to give you a tiger track across the road.

From the owners

We are a family-run lodge at the edge of Mudumalai. We hire from Masinagudi. We do not feed wildlife. We keep the lights low after 10pm. We will tell you the truth about your chances of seeing a tiger — and then we will give you the best fair chance we can.

What we do, and what we do not do

  • We do not feed wildlife. Not staff, not guests, not visitors.
  • We follow Forest Department safari ethics. We do not drive off-track. We do not chase.
  • We hire locally — staff are from Masinagudi or within twenty kilometres.
  • We compost food waste. We do not use single-use plastic in the kitchen.
  • We keep outdoor lighting low after 10pm so the forest's night can be a night.

Our partner: the Forest Department

Every safari in Mudumalai is operated by the Tamil Nadu Forest Department. We book your jeep, brief you on what to wear and bring, and put you in touch with a naturalist whose voice we trust. The forest is not ours to sell — we just stand at the edge of it and welcome people in.
